Packing 101: Your Go to Guide to Packing

Are you the type of person to over pack for every trip? No shame in it! We were, too, at one point in time. Now, we follow this step-by-step guide for every trip!

Step 1: How many days are you staying?

For this trip I was staying 7 days and 7 nights. I decided on 7 dresses, laid them out, and added shoes. Once that’s decided, roll them up and stuff them neatly into packing cubes!

Step 2: Will you work out?

So, this step is somewhat optional.

Let’s say your answer is no. Follow up question would be, what activities do you have planned for this vacation? If you plan out outdoorsy things and hiking, don’t bypass this step!

If your answer to follow up question is also no, feel free to bypass this step and go straight to #3!

For my people who don’t want to skip out on their fitness routines, how many days do you intend on working out?

For this trip, I decided on 3 days. I pack everything from my sports bra to the socks together and repeat the process above. (Roll the clothing items together and stash them in your workout cubes)

Step 3: Are you going to the beach/Is there a pool?

For the sake of my trip, we landed on two beach days. Because we’re only doing two days, we don’t need a hundred swimsuit options; simply pack one cover up and one swimsuit.

Step 4: Don’t forget your PJ’s!

Remember, we’re staying 7 nights! Whether you’re a pajama repeater or not, you do not need more than 7! Once those are laid out, we pack them in with our swimwear.

Step 5: Day Outfits

Make sure to layout them out so you can easily vision the looks. Now, what accessories will you need? Belts, bracelets, sunglasses, etc.

Step 6: Intimates

The only thing I have to say about this step is: don’t forget your intimate wear! With that being said, pack accordingly (you won’t need your entire drawer).

Step 7: OUTERWEAR

Pack the following: 1 Jacket, 1 Sweater, 1 Button Down, and a pair of sneakers!

Step 8: Miscellaneous

These are your items that don’t really need their own category but cannot be forgotten!

Don’t have packing cubes? Here are a few we recommend:

Jewelry/Accessories: Option  & Option 2

Tech (Chargers, Laptops, Tablets)

And voila! You’re done!
