lookingGLASS Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026

The short version

lookingGLASS helps you get dressed from your own closet. To do that, we collect what we need to style you: your account details, your closet photos, and your style preferences. We use your photos to catalog your clothes and build outfits for you.

  • We do not sell your personal data.

  • We do not share your personal data for third-party advertising.

  • We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

  • You can delete your account, and your data with it, from the app.

Who we are

This policy is from lookingGLASS Lifestyle, Inc., a Delaware corporation based in Austin, Texas ("lookingGLASS," "we," "us," or "our"). It covers the lookingGLASS mobile app and our website at lookingglasslifestyle.com (together, the "Service").

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: your name, email address, password, and an optional phone number.

  • Closet photos and videos: the photos and videos you take with your camera or choose from your photo library. You decide which ones to upload. Some of them may show you, such as a mirror selfie or a photo of you wearing an outfit. We also keep the items we detect in them, with details like category, color, and material.

  • Style information: your height, weight, body shape, sizes, style profile, and quiz answers, if you choose to share them.

  • Style Chat and stylist requests: the messages you send in Style Chat, the outfit requests you type, and any requests or messages you send to one of our human stylists.

  • Your activity in the app: saved outfits, outfits you plan on your lookingGLASS calendar, items you wear, and feedback you give on suggestions (for example, "not for me").

  • Purchases and membership: your membership plan, subscription status, and the styling services you buy. Payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe's secure page. We do not see or store your full card number.

  • Notification preferences: what you want us to send you, when, and how (email, push, or text).

Information collected when you use the app

  • Approximate location: if you allow it, the app uses your approximate location, rounded to about 11 km (roughly 7 miles), to check the weather for your daily outfit. It is never your street address. You can type in a city instead, and we round that the same way. You can turn this off at any time.

  • Push notification token: if you allow notifications, we save a token from your device so we can send you push notifications through Expo and Apple's push notification service.

  • Usage and diagnostics: basic information about how you use the app (for example, which screens you open and which features you try) and basic technical details when something goes wrong (for example, the app version and device platform). This helps us keep the app working and fix problems.

Pinterest, if you connect it

If you choose to connect your Pinterest account, Pinterest will ask your permission to share your boards with us and to let us add pins. We keep a record of the connection. Nothing is read and nothing is pinned unless you ask for it. You can disconnect Pinterest from Connect Accounts in your profile, and you can also remove lookingGLASS in your Pinterest account settings.

Information collected on our website

Our website runs on Shopify. When you visit, we and Shopify collect basic technical information that browsers send, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit, so the site works and stays secure. If you buy something or contact us through the website, we collect the details you provide, such as your name and email.

Cookies on our website

Cookies are small files a website places on your device. We use:

  • Essential cookies: these keep the website working and secure, for example to keep your cart and checkout working and to help prevent fraud. The site cannot work properly without them.

  • Functional cookies: these remember choices you make, such as your login or your cookie preferences, so you don't have to set them again on each visit.

You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when a cookie is being sent. If you block essential cookies, some parts of the website may not work.

How we use your information

  • To provide the Service: create and manage your account, catalog your closet, build your outfits, run Style Chat, connect you with a stylist, and process your membership and purchases.

  • To style you from your photos: we use your closet photos to detect the clothing in them and build your closet catalog. For many items, we create an AI-generated catalog image based on your photo so your closet looks clean and consistent. These images are labeled as AI images in the app. Your photos and the items detected in them are used to create outfit suggestions for you.

  • To check the weather: we use your approximate location to fit your daily look to the weather.

  • To send you what you asked for: your daily outfit, stylist replies, reminders, and account and security messages, by email, push notification, or text, based on your settings.

  • To improve lookingGLASS: we look at how the app is used and at technical problems so we can fix bugs and make the Service better.

  • To keep things safe and legal: to protect our users and the Service, prevent misuse, and meet our legal obligations.

We do not use your photos for advertising, and we do not sell them.

Marketing emails

We may send you optional emails about offers and specials, such as new services and member pricing. These are optional. You can turn them off at any time in Notification preferences in the app, or by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Even if you turn them off, we will still send messages about your account, purchases, and the features you use.

Text messages

If you give us your phone number and choose to get messages by text, we use it only to send you the messages you signed up for. You can change this in Notification preferences in the app.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the stated categories in this Privacy Policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Who we share information with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run lookingGLASS. They process your data only on our behalf, to provide the Service to us, under agreements that protect it. They are not allowed to use it for their own purposes.

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS): hosting and storage, and AI processing through AWS Bedrock to label your closet photos, generate outfits and catalog images, and power Style Chat.

  • Stripe: payment processing for memberships and purchases.

  • Open-Meteo: weather lookup. The app sends a location to Open-Meteo to get the forecast. Open-Meteo does not receive your name, email, or account details.

  • Expo and Apple: delivery of push notifications.

  • Our email delivery provider: sending our emails to you.

  • Shopify: running our website and online store.

We may also share information:

  • When the law requires it: for example, in response to a valid court order or government request, or when needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or lookingGLASS.

  • If our business changes hands: if lookingGLASS is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will let you know before it becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

  • With your permission: for example, when you choose to share an outfit to Pinterest or another app.

Again: we do not sell your personal data, we do not share it for third-party advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

How long we keep your information

We keep your account data and photos while your account is active, so your closet and outfit history stay available to you.

If you delete your account, a 7 day grace period starts, during which you can change your mind. After that, we remove your account data from active use. If you want to confirm that your data has been fully erased, contact us and we will help. We may keep limited records when the law requires it, such as records of payments.

Your choices and controls

  • Edit your information: you can change your personal information, preferences, and connected accounts in your profile at any time.

  • Location, camera, photos, and notifications: you can turn these permissions on or off at any time in your device settings. You can also type a city instead of sharing your location.

  • Notifications and marketing: choose what we send you, and how, in Notification preferences in the app.

  • Delete your account: you can request deletion of your account and data from the Profile screen in the app (tap Delete account), or by emailing us at support@lookingglasslifestyle.com.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, including Texas and other U.S. states with privacy laws, you may have the right to ask us what personal data we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to correct it, and to delete it. You can also opt out of marketing at any time. Because we do not sell your data or use it for targeted advertising, there is nothing to opt out of there.

To make a request, email lana@lookingglasslifestyle.com. We may need to confirm your identity before we act. We will not treat you differently for using your rights. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision and asking us to look at it again.

Security

Your data is encrypted on its way to and from our servers, and access to it inside our team is limited to the people who need it to run the Service. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data, and we will tell you if something goes wrong that affects you.

Children

You must be at least 13 years old to use lookingGLASS. If you are under 18, please get permission from a parent or guardian before using the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has given us personal information, please contact us at lana@lookingglasslifestyle.com.

Where your information is processed

lookingGLASS is based in Texas, United States, and the Service is meant for people in the United States. Your information is stored and processed in the United States.

Links to other websites

Our Service may link to websites and apps we don't run, such as Pinterest or Instagram. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them, so we suggest reading those too.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data in a way that matters, we will let you know in the app or by email before the change takes effect, and we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
