The lookingGLASS team is on a mission to help women rediscover a signature style that reflects the best version of themselves – pre- and post-kiddos! If you’ve ever found yourself asking the all-knowing Google: “What should I wear to an event?” or “What outfits are flattering on my body type?”, then look no further because our style team has got you covered.

We’re excited to announce that the lookingGLASS team is growing, and we’d like to take an opportunity to introduce the women (and moms) behind the style, our team of professional personal stylists.

Lana Ashby Rowder | Founder & CEO

Personal Stylist, Owner, CEO - Lana

Lana grew up in a small town in Nebraska with a population of just 364 residents. Personal styling was always something that inspired her and she’s been passionate about putting fun outfits together since a very young age. This is evidenced by the fact that Lana was voted the most fashionable in her high school!

Upon the completion of high school, Lana was led to pursue her true calling – helping others. She pursued this calling and attended the University of Nebraska studying nursing. After graduating from the program, she moved to Austin, Texas where she began her first nursing position at St. David’s Hospital in the Medical/Surgical Department. She then worked as a rotating nurse in a variety of specialty clinics like cardiac, neurology, orthopedics, rehabilitation, emergency services, and postpartum care.

Lana met her husband, Nick, while working as a nurse at St. David and they had their first daughter in 2013 followed by their second daughter in 2015. Recognizing that she was unable to work the demanding 12-hour nursing shifts at the hospital and wanting to spend more time with her daughters, Lana transitioned into working as a substitute nurse at her children’s school.

After her daughters were born, Lana struggled to find outfits that she felt beautiful, confident, and relaxed wearing and found herself becoming less social. Lana, like so many other women after having kids, was struggling to rediscover her personal style. Many of Lana’s close friends began confiding in her that they were struggling with the same problem and asking her for advice on dressing in their new season of life. Comments like “I just want to feel confident and beautiful again when I leave the house” or “I want to wear something other than old maternity clothes!” inspired Lana to share her own experience and insights to help other women. This personal journey of self-discovery led Lana to begin styling her friends, then friends of friends, which ultimately bred the idea of lookingGLASS Lifestyle. Lana received her Personal Styling Certification through the New York Institute of Art and Design, and she is passionate about helping all women find their unique style for any occasion.

Lauren R. | Personal Stylist

Lauren, personal stylist at lookingGLASS

Lauren joins lookingGLASS with an extensive background in personal styling. She grew up in the El Paso, Texas area and moved to Austin for high school. She quickly fell in love with Austin and attended the University of Texas majoring in Nutrition. Lauren has always been passionate about personal styling, and even wanted to change her major mid-degree to Fashion and Textiles, but ultimately decided to pursue styling upon graduation instead.

She began her personal styling career straight out of college and started working at Kendra Scott, followed by Neiman Marcus, and later dipping her toes into men’s styling working as a custom tailor for Tom James Company. Lauren’s always been passionate about styling women in particular, so she moved to StitchFix before joining us at lookingGLASS as our very first stylist.

The most important thing that Lauren has learned throughout her style journey is the importance of meeting clients where they are on their style journey. Everyone puts a different value on clothing and Lauren wants them to always feel their best, whether that’s running errands in their day-to-day life, or pushing the fashion envelope and trying a new Vogue-worthy look. She believes that style is a reflection of one’s self, so incorporating individuality into every look is her priority.

Lauren is married with two young children, a boy, and a girl. In her free time, you can find her running around Town Lake (Lady Bird Lake for the non-Austinites) exploring specialty grocery stores, and traveling with her family. She considers herself a foodie and loves creating new meals to entertain friends and family.

Stefani J. | Personal Stylist

Stefani, a lookingGLASS personal stylist.

Stefani joins lookingGLASS with a diverse background in personal styling as well as entrepreneurship. She’s started two businesses, one of which is an online retailer that features women’s clothing intending to encourage sisterhood amongst women by helping them look and feel confident. Stefani also worked as a personal stylist at StitchFix for over four years before joining the lookingGLASS team.

She grew up across southern Texas, ending with high school in Victoria, then attended Texas A&M University and majored in Communications. Fun fact – she completed her degree in just three years! Stefani is married to her high school sweetheart and they have four children together, three girls and one boy. Her family relocated to Austin about five years ago, and she confidently expresses that Austin is her favorite place to live in Texas.

The most important thing that she’s learned throughout her style journey is that fit matters! Stefani said, “If it doesn’t fit, don’t buy it! If you already own it and it no longer fits, pass it along!” She expresses that personal style doesn’t fit into one box. What is good for one person isn’t necessarily good for another, and that’s okay! Stefani understands the importance of identifying a person’s individual style challenges and working with them to find styles that they feel confident and comfortable wearing.

In Stefani’s free time, you can find her trying out fun new recipes, doing pilates and weight lifting, happy hours with her girlfriends, and generally just trying out new things! Her spiritual life is also very important to her and she enjoys being connected to her larger church community.
